Cairo Montenotte
Cairo Montenotte is a small town with an old historic centre. Medieval festivals take place here in August. There are plenty of shops and a cosy square. Here you will also find one of our favourite caterers: Archimede E and one of our favourite restaurants: Ristorante La Braia.
Millesimo
Millesimo is a small historic town with a nice centre. You pass it as you drive inland from Pian del Nasso towards the Mediterranean. In September, the famous Truffle Festival takes place here and is really a must to visit with a market with all kinds of local products. You will also find the family restaurant Pantarei Cucina, where you can dine really delicious a-la-carte.
Savona
The town of Savona is also well worth a visit. It is just half an hour away. You can enjoy shopping in the pretty city centre and sunbathing on the beach. You will also find many restaurants where you can enjoy fresh fish dishes. Also worth a visit is the fortress Priamar Fortis, built according to the designer Giovanni Maria Olgiati in 1542. It is located on a promontory where the medieval settlement of Savona once lay. It includes an archaeological museum and from the fortress you have breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea.



The Liguria region is known for the Floral Riviera and the Cinque Terre, but it also has many other interesting sights! The region is characterised by its long and narrow shape and by the presence of beaches as well as mountains. The region's main city is Genoa. Discover the narrow, sometimes dark alleys typical of the city. You cannot miss the beautiful, famous Aquarium and the Porto Antico.

If you like long walks, it is a good idea to walk from Santa Margherita to Portofino via the coastal route. The elegant town of Alassio with its famous Muretto. Sestri Levante is a picturesque town on the Gulf of Tigullio. It stretched along two bays, the Baia delle Favole (The Fairy Tale Bay), whose name was decided by the famous writer Hans Christian Andersen, and the Baia del Silenzio (The Silent Bay), surrounded by houses in pastel colours and fishing boats.
Between Camogli and Portofino, in a narrow bay, lies the ancient abbey of San Fruttuoso. The place can be reached on foot from Portofino or Camogli or by boat from Santa Margherita Ligure or, again, from Portofino. Camogli is also famous for the Sagra del Pesce on the second Sunday in May - fresh fish is fried in large pans in the main square! The town of Sanremo is best known in Italy for its floriculture and annual music festival held at the Ariston Theatre. Furthermore, the colourful Russian Orthodox Church is worth a visit.
Noli is a beautiful town and a fine location to spend time at the beach. And how lovely to rent a (sailing) boat and spend a day on the water.
Hanbury Garden
For garden lovers: Hanbury garden on the coast in the town of Ventimiglia (near the border with France).
