The watermill on the estate Pian del Nasso - originally dated around 1750 - is special because of its history, location and appearance. The mill is located at the junction of two water streams with scenic views and nature all around and an absolute guarantee for peacefulness and privacy.
After a extensive restoration finished in spring 2011, the mill is available as a special holiday accommodation. In the design and during construction we tried to find a balance between maintaining the authentic elements of the watermill and meeting todays standards for a pleasant and luxurious accommodation.
This contrast old-new is evident in the use of materials and the final finishing; the original features of the mill are made of natural stone and cast iron, the building components are made up of regional natural stone and the timber used is mostly chestnut and oak. These features are confronted by the contrast of modern materials such as concrete, glass and stainless steel. Ceramics can be found in the form of tile paintings, tile panels built from the 18th century. Also the decoration is a combination of old and new: a modern kitchen and bathroom, comfortable floor heating as well as antique furniture. The watermill has an extensive atmospheric lighting both indoors and outdoors.
layout and decoration
Besides the authentic restored part of the mill (including water wheel, millstones and all the antique wheelwork), the modern and luxurious living area consists of a large loft overlooking the mill section (with sofa, convertible into double bed), a spacious double bedroom , a covered outdoor veranda (first floor level), an additional sleeping area with a single bed and an extra portable bed, a spacious bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a covered outdoor veranda (ground floor level). Around the mill there are several terraces with furniture, a garden and an herb garden. The mill has 2 to 4 sleeping accommodations, and via its own path (75 m) one has access to the heated pool (5x12 m) with pool house on the estate Pian del Nasso. Pets are welcome after preliminary consultation.
